"COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — People have been lined up since early Friday morning in anticipation of the opening of Colorado’s first In-N-Out restaurant in northern Colorado Springs.

The new location opened at 10 a.m. Friday at 1840 Democracy Point, which is at the intersection of Interquest and Voyager parkways."

I read that the wait for the Aurora location was 14 hours.

Who would think that somebody would willingly kill that much time for a hamburger?

Agree, but then there are people who camp out overnight to buy the newest iPhones, or see the new Star Wars flick.

It is definitely not something I would do, but I think some people get a thrill from it, as some kind of memorable event they participated in. "Remember that time we lined up for 14 hours for a burger? hahaha, yeah that's a fun memory."

I’ve never been to a Smashburger, but I disagree that Five Guys is as good as In-N-Out.

I haven't been to In n Out but both Smashburger and Fiveguys I wasn't particularly impressed with. I liked Lark Burger, but I think it closed.

I remember when Kristy Kreme came to the area. Lines a mile long. Now you walk in and they give you a free donut.

My son has lived in L.A. for the past 8 years and he swears Five Guys is better.

I went to the In-N-Out in Stafford, Texas right after it opened last year. Compared to the other locations, the burgers weren't as good. I eventually traced it to the fact that, much like a cast iron skillet, the grill needs time for the seasoning to accumulate before they taste the best.

So unless you're just interested in the novelty and bragging rights to post on Instagram (which sadly many people are these days), I wouldn't be waiting in line to eat at any new In-N-Out when it first opens.
