I second the suggestions about Gold Camp Bakery in Victor and the Pantry in Green Mountain Falls - both are excellent. McGinty's in Divide is another option. I can't wait to hear about the results of your trip!

Thanks all for your inputs. We had such a great time in CS. Truly enjoyed it. Day 1 we visited royal gorge and took the train. Train ride was wonderful. To really experience it, you should stand in one of their open carriages and gaze at the beauty of the gorge. Great feeling. We took the route via cripple creek and high park rd to the Gorge. Amazing views of the rockies from cripple creek.
Day 2 we went to garden of gods in the morning and then to Pikes Peak yeah we did end up making to the summit. It was truly worth the drive. Its just not the summit, but the whole experience of driving to reach there was inexplicable. I was spell bound driving my SUV on the curvy roads and without any barriers on the side, i could see nothing but the blue sky while climbing. So much adrenaline rush we all loved it. Felt a bit light headed. But not bad.
Day 3 we had booked our stay overnight in denver to catch our flight next day morning. So instead of directly driving to Denver we went to breckenridge. OMG. The scenic drive to get there was so so good. Couldn't take my eyes of the rockies. Such beautiful snow capped peak. Was literally driving along the Rockies for almost an hour and didn't feel bored even for a second. We rode through Florissant Fairplay Alma and then reached breckenridge. Had some wonderful ice cream in main street. Took the Gondola to peak 8. Didn't do any skiiing. Played in snow. Then on our way back to Denver saw Dillon reservoir and Eisenhower tunnel (that was so long). We ran out of time. Wish i had couple more days to enjoy this beauty. One of the best family vacation we took for a looong time. It truly felt like a vacation
Thanks all!!!
I will return back in the winter again to admire this beauty

Yes, it is nice to hear the outcome of someone's experience, so thanks for letting us know.

Sounds like you managed to cram a lot of mountain into your short stay, and I'm glad to hear you found your snow.
