So Im interested in moving to Colorado because I always loved the outdoors and wanna live near the mountains. Im will be 21/22 when I move. I was wondering because I read that for males it is very difficult in the dating scene. I was wondering if that had any merit? I mainly looking to find someone that I can one day settle down and start a family. And how are the people like? I currently live in Houston so there is a lot of diversity when it comes to the people and culture.

Difficult is a perspective much like saying something is pretty. We all have a slightly different point of view of it. Is Colo Spgs high on the great dating scale, no. We don't attract people here because of great dating. If your idea of a great dating scene is the ability to bed a different women every week, then Colo Spgs will fail you. If you want the chance to meet women from all over the country, who tend to have a good deal of self confidence, while exploring different aspects of urban and outdoors activities, then it may not be too bad. Compared to Houston, which tends to rate high on total number of single women, we may suffer in comparison.

I have been out of the dating scene for a couple of decades, but when I was dating, it was possible to have a very regular activity schedule that included dating. If you are looking at dating as an exclusive means of entertainment, this may not be the best place. If it is something else you do while doing other things, then it is probably average. You will have to come here with a fair amount of confidence in yourself, willingness to engage in new activities, and be open and friendly. With that you will meet women that have come here from all over the country for various reasons who are also interested in exploring the area. The central and western parts of town will tend to have residents with more liberal views while everywhere else will tend to be more moderate to conservative.

FWIW, some numbers on the area from world population review:
White: 78.22%
Black or African American: 6.36%
Other race: 5.93%
Two or more races: 5.62%
Asian: 2.90%
Native American: 0.68%
Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander: 0.29%

Female demographics:
Overall female population 50.11%
Marital status 49.3% married, 6.8% widowed, 15.3 divorced, 2% separated, 26.5% never married.
Largest age bracket 25-30, approx 18,000; 20-24 and 30-34 approx 17,000 each, next highest age bracket 50-54 at approx 17,000.

An anecdotal perspective from a lady who dipped her lil toes into the dating pool in 2015 following a divorce...

If you are NOT a soldier or a stoner, you've got a better chance to stand out and get noticed. This town is saturated in youngish men of those two persuasions, and pickings can be slim for ladies looking for a guy who is not one or the other of them.

But that's just...like...my opinion. *shrug*

I know a lady who is into that "type" and she's really been struggling to find someone. Well, she has a few other criteria. Gotta be pretty adventurous for real to keep up with her. But yeah.

They are not as numerous as the soldiers and stoners, IMO.

Oh no, when I saw that in photos on dating sites, I thought one thing and one thing only...
"He's going bald and he doesn't want anyone to know."

As long as you're a reasonably reasonable person in both looks and temperament, you should be fine, especially being so young.
