Suzi-
I came from there and now in VA- just be sure you don't have your kids in D2 and you will be fine. In fact, you will love the schools in COS compared to here in VA. You may be a bit confused at first at how things work because VA is 10 years behind the curve in education. When you speak of RTI here in VA, they say "RT what?" And in reality, D2 is the same as the others except they serve a different clientel and you really don't want your high school aged kids in their high schools. Hence everyone encourages everyone to choose the other districts. D20 is the higher end of the socio-economic scale that is more affordable- the highest being D12. However, all the teachers go to the same trainings, have the same or similar curriculum, and all work together. So please know you are entering a completely different system than here in VA where there is less politics in the education system and the people involved truly are looking out for the children and not their reputation or pocket books. COS has a great school system!

Does anyone know if D-28 is part of the "school choice program" where a parent can send their child to a school that isnt so financially motivated as is the very real and disabling case with this district ? Also, where does it sat in the colorado EDU texts and or laws that a contracted psychologist I.E. ( Mr. Gladden has the authority to tell parents what schools their kids can attend & what schools they can't; what law ?) Please Quote this if you can .

Default Choice window opens for D20

FYI: The choice window for D20 opens on 04 Jan, with public meetings set to take place at many schools.
