I also thought that place had good pizza but was taken aback by a note he had up that something like tips belonged to the employer, not the employees. After seeing that I decided I probably would not go back there.

While Charis is big business, some in Woodland Park are concerned about the Bible college's outsize influence

https://www.csindy.com/news/while-ch...12b61ca53.html

" And when Wommack said last April “as many people as we have in this school here, we ought to take over Woodland Park,” it did more than raise a few eyebrows — particularly when he elaborated, saying “this county ought to be totally dominated by believers,” and, “We have enough people here in this school we could elect anybody we want.”"

Yep, it always is about control and power; politics and religion are twin evils in that respect, a pox on both.

I really thought the Charis people would be more of a factor than they have been. My opinion is that Wommack's now infamous statement was wishful thinking on his part. I simply do not see their influence anywhere around town. It may be that a very high percentage of their students and employees live in the Springs, which would diminish influence. But I really do not know.

There is "control and power" in Denver that worries me a lot more.

Well, when you believe you can raise people from the dead, winning local elections would seem to be a given.

Especially when these "churches" are not required to pay taxes.

I wonder how they keep employees with that kind of statement?
