You can't buy a license at the lakes but can buy them at most outdoor sporting goods stores......Walmart, Sportsman's Wharehouse, etc. and you can get them online.

I would go downtown to Memorial Park 1605 E. Pikes Peak, and try Prospect Lake ....it's right there in the middle of the park.....you can't miss it.......it's beautiful, it's easy easy to get there and if the fish aren't biting, the lad can have fun at the playground areas instead.

Shaun,

I can speak to the pike populations in the area, but it's mostly rainbow trout and some bass around here. Catfish in and around the Pueblo resevoir.

Quail Lake ! Your son won't need a license, but your husband will. He can get a one day pass at WalMart for $9. Get worms and salmon eggs with a sinker on the bottom to catch some trout. It's on the south side? of the Springs, 115 to Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard. Quail Lake Park

No pike in the springs - if you want to catch pike then you have to go to South Park or Denver.

If you haven't already taken your son out fishing. Get out of town. Head up to Eleven Mile or Spinney Reservoir off of Hwy. 24 past Florissant.

Default palmer lake

I was at Palmer Lake yeasterday with my girlfriend and can say that there are northern pike in there.i caught two, 6 to 8 inchers on a red and white Dare Devil.it is sad to see those invasive fish in a great little trout pond like that.i would encourage anyone who caughts one to remove it from the lake.

Yes, many many times. I see a lot of folks fishing up there but I don't see a lot of them catching. I usually don't stop to ask though. I think it depends on when it was last stocked. Mainly Trout with some catfish in the weeds. I don't think the Pike have gotten out of hand up there yet, like in our PL namesake. Upper res is much bigger than lower and probably better fishing as a result.
