Are there areas of Briargate (within D20) to steer clear of? What are the more popular places to live within D20?
One more: Does anyone have a recommendation for a local moving company? They would be unpacking only.

Thanks!

I don't think there are any bad areas. I think (and I don't live there so I am not an expert) Briargate is delineated by types, prices, amenities, and ages of homes. I think if you visited the entire Briargate area you would agree with this. It will come down to what you want in a home and the school, all of which are at least good.

Briargate is centered in this school performance map:

I don't think there's any bad areas of Briargate. Unless you have kids that like to play outside, I wouldn't reccomend a main street to live on, but as far as crime, etc., you will not find a bad area.

Thank you both for the rapid reply! Charles, what time do most arrive at SAFB? Is the 10 - 15 minutes from car to desk just a function of distance alone, or does arrival time also factor in?

The parking lots are probably 20% full at 6AM (however there are 24/7 operations there)
By 7 they are about 40% full
By 8, probably 75%
By 9, probably 99% full; though there is a dirt overflow parking lot.

Arrival time does factor in because the later you arrive, the farther you have to walk. I arrive around 615 and it takes me about 10-12 minutes. If I got there at 8 it would be 15 minutes.

There are one or two Colorado Springs city buses that go from somewhere in the Briargate area right onto the base. That might be something to consider.

Couple other things. There are three gyms there, two are really nice. On sunny days I play basketball outside at lunch; otherwise I use the fitness equipment. There are TVs going with ESPN, FOX, History, etc. Pretty nice. There is a outdoor tennis court too. Sometimes I ride my bike at lunch on a 15 mile loop outside the base.

No "bad" areas of Briargate. With 9,600 acres, it's a pretty good chunk of the city and probably one of the safest in the city.

Not to say that there aren't problems. But mostly a safe place to live.

Norwood - which may be about the same size (or larger) is also a pretty good area to live in. The difference mainly being school districts.

But both offer a reasonably safe environment for people to live.

Been in Briargate for 10 years this coming August and prior I never thought I would enjoy living here. I've always been a "non conformist" (used to live on the west side) but have been very satisfied with Briargate. I live only blocks from the start of Norwood on Norwood's north side so for me, I see it too has the same qualities (at least at the parts I know) as Briargate. I actually have an aunt and uncle living in Norwood that I could walk to from my house.

So as a single woman, Briargate is fine with me. It's a bit generic in the home I live in (tract home) but most of the people are very friendly, I can get anything I need within 5 minutes and most of all, quiet.

Exactly why I moved from the west side as well.
