Hi
I was hoping that someone more familiar with the area could fill me in with any potential developments or knowledge of what might be in the planning stage for the area between Meridain and Vollmer to the Hodgen side - is Meridian planned to be a larger through road access for the future. We are looking at a few homes in the area, and although they may be larger lots, I was wondering how long it would keep the rural feel? Are there areas that are considered a better investment than others - we are not too crazy about being completely treed in, but believe that it helps cutting down on the wind aspect -
Thanks

I would definately recommend trees! We live in the trees and have very little wind. My sister-in-law lives 2 miles from here ( out of the trees). They have 20 acres and never even go outside because it's so windy all the time. One side of our lot is a little more open than the other side, so we have some views and don't feel "treed in". most the other trees on the lot are nicely placed so that we have grass growing instead of just pine needles everywhere- that was a big consideration when we got our place. I don't think the area will get too developed, but I would steer clear of lots on the main roads because I do expect heavier traffic. They are just a few feet away from having Hodgen go through. I looked up on the county website for any improvement they have planned for the near future and I couldn't find anything. So, I would say you would be safe for now. However, that can change at any given time, so I agree that you should just play it safe and stay away from the busier roads. bashep
