I have read these forums for a few months now, and over and over and over it is said... "how bad the traffic is" in cos
LOL
I know that everything is
relative and if you are not used to traffic then it can be rough. I just want to put something in perspective for you.

I lived on the MA/RI border. From my house, it would take me (on a normal afternoon) 20 minutes to get from my house in MA to my work in Providence. In the morning it took me 1 1/2 hours to get there. It was a GREAT day if it only took me an hour. I started leaving my house 1 hour before I normally would leave just so I could get to work with little traffic.

Another job. It was a 45 minute commute from home to my job in Boston. It took me 3 hours to get there. That is not a typo. 3 hours. I left my house at 5am to get there at 8am. And that was with what we called "no traffic". And there were days I was late. The most it ever took though was 4 hours. (I worked there for the money)

This was 4-6 years ago when gas prices weren't as high so it wasn't a huge deal to me. You get used to it. And you just drive in it. So, no matter how bad the traffic may seem to you on a certain day... it could always be worse

Exactly, traffic here is nothing compared to back east, DC being my frame of reference.

With the anti-tax attitudes here, may be rough finding money for road work that is needed, but we'll see, maybe sanity will finally return.

I used to think traffic was bad in Colorado Springs as well. In fact when I worked there I complained about it all the time. Then I moved to Dallas and learned what bad traffic really is. Oh how I long for the days of Colorado Springs traffic! Don't get me wrong. Colorado Springs was poorly designed for growth. The infrastructure has struggled to keep up with all the growth with the roads suffering the most.

I'm going to hate when school starts again, it's going to take me 10 minutes to get to work.

Traffic out here is indeed laughable compared to MA. Driving across town in Somerville used to take 20 minutes with all the red lights. When I moved further north, my commute would be 1-2 hours, depending on how bad the asshattery was that day and how many people gawked at the accident. I drove out to the Springs for a 9 am interview a few weeks ago and the roads were completely clear, very few cars on the road.
