I don't think it's all that easy to be in the Pikes Peak region or the Front Range and only see "one" sight. I mean you can't but help but notice overwhelming beauty wherever you look (yes, even the plains).

But I'm confused about the responses, because I don't think you're asking about mountains to drive up ... are you?

The "Contemplative Trail" along the far western edge of Red Rock Canyon/Park (parking lot south of Highway 24 about 1 mile west of 31st street) has to be one of the 3-5 most gorgeous "urban" hikes in the U.S. Less touristy than Garden of the Gods Park and you actually hike through and among the rock formations. Really amazing for how easy it is to access.

Default Bucket List

Bucket list for Co. in general or just Colorado Springs?

For the Springs (area), Garden of the Gods is awesome especially if you have any interest in geology. Breath taking.
Manitou Springs is a lovely little place for the art lovers.
The ride up to Cripple Creek in the fall is a must see. The aspens are out of this world. Cripple Creek is also a quaint Victorian town. Get past the casinos and really look at the area, the Sangre de Cristo mountains. We take too much of our history for granite. Remember Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman? The TV show. Well the real Dr. Susan Anderson is buried in Cripple Creeks cemetery. That is where the story came from. The first lady Dr. in Cripple Creek in the 1800's. Cool history. We also have donkeys wandering everywhere to keep you busy.

I was born and raised in Durango, so naturally the ride on the narrow gauge, Durango/Silverton railroad is a must do. Enjoy the herds of elk out the valley. Others never see this. Mesa Verde ruins is something we should appreciate more also.
I could go on, but don't want to get crazy.
Kat
