View from the cam is best in the early A.M., when sun is on it. Some snow on the peak now, a bit more is due tonight/tomorrow.

Beautiful pics, Mike.

My biggest weakness in life is strong coffee. Every morning I visit the Starbucks drive-thru on Academy - offering a daily morning view of Pike's Peak. I love sitting in line just starting at it.

AJ: Thanks for the kind words. I'm a Starbucks fan too. There's one further down Academy, at Austin Bluffs, where you sit outside and look at the peak, glorious. Then there's one in the Shops at Briargate, just off I-25 exit 151, where you sit outside and often watch skydivers and gliders at the USAF Academy. Then there's my current favorite, at Briargate and Union, near the new Memorial Hospital and next to the Spicy Pickle sandwich shop - you gotta try it.

s/Mike

Default Photo's from 15 Feb 2008

Today was one of the those days where we get temps around +15 AND fog, which freezes to everything. Here are two pix: (1) Frost on the tree limbs, and; (2) Pikes Peak looming above the fog-shrouded Rampart Range/Foothills.

The trees and bushes were gorgeous with the frost on them yesterday morning... I should have taken photos as well. Thanks for posting yours Mike.
