Did it in early summer in Fox Run Park. We found a couple of caches, but not the one on the south side of the lake.

A friend wrote a action/murder/mystery novel called 'Geocache'. It's on Amazon.com and is a pretty good read, especially if you like the sport. He lives in Denver and used some local landmarks.

I've stumbled on a few of those while not even looking for them. People need to hide them better

Is this done by a specific club/organization, or are there public places they do it? This sounds like something I can do with my grandkids if I'm reading it right.

Yep, sure do. Colorado has some really nice geocaching. Lot's of caches right here in the Springs and you don't need to be part of a group or club to do it. We geocache when we are out hiking. www.geocaching.com.

You can also download a kzm file from that website, then open it into Google earth and see all the geochaches in your area. You'll be amazed at how many there are everywhere.

Also, if you are using a Garmin, you can download the caches directly to your receiver from their site once you register.
