Are you really asking if there's 4 seasons in Colorado? Short answer: yes. Long answer: Use the search function built into the web site because there's been hundreds of threads about the weather.

My impressions on the CoS seasons:

Let's start with Spring. The freeze date for gardening is @ May 15, though the temp may dip below freezing throughout May. Spring is typically short and sweet, transitioning quickly to summer.

Let's say Summer starts heating up sometime late June and continue through August. As August ends you can tell Fall is coming!

September is often summer-like, but the evening can get chilly and it feels like fall. We don't have the east coast fall experience because we don't have the stands of deciduous trees. You can see lovely aspens turning yellow in the mountains, not so much in the Springs, but you can see the yellow swathes on the slopes of Pikes Peak and elsewhere. Get ready! Snow can happen at anytime, but typically by Halloween we get out first snowfall, sometimes a blizzard!

OK, Winter is the longest season, but it is not constant like most of the country. Oct-Nov starts it off, but days are nice and sunny and outside of the occasional snow it is dry and chilly evening. The real cool nights occur late Dec-early Feb, when we usually get a couple stretches, 3-7 days each, of below zero nights. The days are still sunny and cheery, but the nights are bitter. By Feb, the extreme temps lessen, but then the possibility of snows increase. Still sunny by day and cold at night, but we are gearing up for March and April, when we get, statistically, the most snow, with occasional snowfalls and posssibly blizzards. It's still typically nice and sunny during the day.

There you go! A long, mostly 'mild' winter with lots of snow. It's pretty nice! Your mileage may vary!

Searching does not really take all day. Just type in 'weather' and see what comes up. Or, now that this thread exists, see the similar threads list below.

There are two months out of the year where it almost definitely won't snow (hint: we're in one of them now), and there are two more months out of the year where it almost definitely won't be 80º or higher. Beyond that, anything can happen.

But apparently we have all day to post inane, curdmudgeonly comments.
