I need to get an ozone generator and "shock" the basement. The previous owner seemed to like to smoke pipe or cigars down there. I don't mind it too much, but we have visitors coming who probably won't like it too much!

We've already replaced carpet, washed walls & put down vinegar & baking soda but the smell is still there a little...I attribute it to the "popcorn" ceiling which is hard to clean. I figured I could shock it with ozone for a day and it would be good. My friend on Anchorage bought a house that had a fire & smoke damage and ran one a couple days and it took almost all the smell away.

Here's an idea.......Lampe Berger. These are Lamps that purify the air and scent it if you want. It was developed back in the 1800's for hospitals and morgues by a paris pharmicist.
You can now get them in many different forms and names such as ..scentier, courtney candles, etc,
Really...google it...they really do work!! I have many from many different places!!
It is NOT like a lamp oil..it HAS to have a certain fuel to work!
My sister's place on the beach in Daytona...suffered from a hurricane years ago..I THINK it was DENNIS.....anyway,,,she couldn't get there for a month and when she walked to her door,...the smell was UNREAL!!
Her fridge/freezer was totally awful and, her husbands leather shoes had black mold on them!! She was going to replace her fridge but, decided to put one of her fragrance lamps in there with the "normal" scent. Cleaned it completely!! She even had rotted frozen shrimp in her freezer!
It's worth looking into and, I swear, such a "find"!
Every kind of lamp design one could imagine and...every kind of scent..including...non scent, nuetralizer, outdoor for bugs...etc!!
NO...I do not sell or promote for anyone!!
Just google it..it is fascinating!!
Also...it works on a cataltic stone...
