Not to be picky or anything, but it's Outside Magazine. An article on KOAA.com made the same error (as well as a handful of other errors in a 6 sentence news story) and they have an editor (supposedly).

When I was stationed at Fort Cartoon from 86-88, I took full advantage of the abundant outdoor recreation adjacent to your fair city..It's always been so beautiful there. So what took people so long to find out what others have known for years? I guess I should take my own advice and head on down to see what's happening there these days. I have only lived in Denver/Boulder for the past eight years without as much as grazing the CS city limits. I have to say that back in the day I had a pretty serious close call while rock climbing at the Garden Of The Gods..Something unexplained kept me from going BOOM seriously..Must be something pretty spiritual about the place, but since than I have never free styled again.
