Will 2 days be enough? Huge fines, fair? Has the city council EVER denied CS utilities?

Sure glad "we," own utilities, ha. Where is our say in this?

Watering twice a week for up to 3 hours is definitely enough to have a perfectly fine lawn. Restrictions are relatively difficult to enforce. But the idea at least is wise for our future.

Without restrictions we didn't water last year for six hours a week, and we installed a piece of sod last year. Three hours is a ridiculous concession.

Everywhere I look it says we water on two certain days- Sunday and Wednesday are my days, I think... from 6pm to 10am?? Does that mean I can water Sunday night AND monday morning? Unclear.

No, Holly. You could water anytime from 12:01 am to 10:00am or from 6pm to midnight on the days permitted.

Not true.

We are in the Springs and are serviced by Mountain View Electric, and our water is Cherokee Metro. Our Gas alone is CSU. We are just down Constitution ave so not like we are out of city limits or anything.

We heat/cool about 3000 sqft and pay about $230, all utilities combined. Our gas is about $100 a month, electric about $80. We keep our heat constantly at about 67(at least), so our furnace is pretty much constantly running. We're hoping for a lower gas bill in the coming months. I find the cost for utilities to be very reasonable.

Before buying our home we lived in a 900sqft apartment and paid about $180 with similar habits - although we lived there in summer/autumn and did not use as much heat.

I'd budget $300, unless you have teenagers, in which case i'd go up to $350

Our BAH covers mortgage for 3000sqft home AND utilities (E5) - A nice home that size will cost $1100-1700/month, so without knowing your rank tough to say how much out of pocket you will pay. A lot of people in your position (large family) opt to live on AFA and commute, because the houses are large and utilities are taken care of.

My house is about 1700 sq feet and I've never paid more than $160 for all utilities, even in the winter, and I always keep my heat at 68.

First of all, you need to be a little more sensitive of where we live and the drought we're in. What happens if we need all that water for another devastating fire? You people and your obsessive need for grass never fail to amaze me. I have one word for you: Xeriscape.

I don't know how they will enforce it, but my family will follow the rules even if there is no enforcement. We're just doing our part to help the city. 1/2 to 2/3rds of our combined yard (front and back) is done in rocks, and I've considered increasing the percentage.
