I should think not. Good conservatives read books instead of drooling on themselves watching Loservision.

To the OP...if it's an entry level job, why not take it and see for yourself? You'll be moving out of that entry-level job soon enough, and if Colorado Springs isn't for you, take that opportunity to move away to some liberal-infested hotbed of socialism. (But hide your wallet before you do)

I have a similar but different situation. I'll be interviewing in Colorado Springs for my first professional job, although i'm coming from Michigan. I have never liked in Denver, and would like to hear your comparison of Denver to Colorado Springs. I'm the same lifestyle as you - 26yrs male, bigtime into outdoors, but still like the bars and nightlife.
I'm visiting Colorado Springs in 2 weeks for the interview, I'll have Saturday day and night free and alone there - where should I visit??

Go for a hike, maybe in Cheyenne Canyon. Drive up Pikes Peak if you have a rental. Downtown in the evening for the bars, I guess - I don't know much about that.

Colorado Springs is very similar to Grand Rapids (in size and political ideology). I grew up in Lansing and lived in Grand Rapids for a year after graduating from college. In my opinion, GR is the best city in MI. I also think Colorado Springs is better than GR, mainly because it isn't in MI. The access to the mountains and world class ski resorts is just something that you can't beat.

If you like the bar scene, then you will want to be on Tejon street at 10pm-2am. I am a 28 married male and I feel too old when I'm down there with younger friends. I'm so glad not to be single and doing the bar scene Just stay away from Syn night club lol. I like the Ritz because they have good bands usually. The clubs/bars are all in walking distance of each other.

ya i'd definitely prefer to see things other than the bar scene while I'm there, but i'd also rather see the bar scene than sit in my hotel room. Any other cool hikes besides GoG, Cheyenne Canyon, and the drive to pikes peak?
Is there any back-country snowboarding I could do near-by? Like, do people ever share rides to the top of some mountain and ski/board down to their cars? that would be sweet. Or even a hike I could do, carrying my snowboard. I really don't even know if that's something possible there.

You might find enough snow at Mueller State Park in a few places for backcountry skiing - that is maybe an hour up 24 from Springs.

Quality of life stuff is important, but a good job is priority #1, especially in this economy.

If the job offer is good, take it!! If you just hate it here, stay in the job for a year or two, while you build up your experience and look for work elsewhere....... while you're employed. It's a win/win for you, no?

Worry about the small stuff later.

Ah, to be young and full o' hope......

Yes Terytee, the job offer I believe will be good, better than anything I would find in Michigan! I suppose my real question, which has been asked a million times here, is "is Colorado Springs a great place to live". From what i've heard so far here, it sounds like it.
On my trip i'll look into places to live and all the "important" things like that I guess. I just also wanted to see the fun stuff.

It definitely is a great place to live. I moved out here from Wash D.C. 3 yrs ago, just for the quality of life. Everything is what you make of it, but I think you'll love it.
Good luck with the new job!

Ditto. Came from the NOVA/DC area in 2005. Love it here. Anything we're short of (Museums, Big-Name Shows, Arts, Shopping, Pro Sports) we can get with a drive to Denver of 60-90 minutes. Hell, millions of people commute 60-90 minutes to work every weekday, we did too. Driving to Denver once in a while for stuff is not a big deal after doing that DC commute for 25 years.
