Hi guys, I've been lurking on this site for a few years but just started posting a few weeks ago and got registered and whatnot. It seems the general consensus is that the southeastern part sucks, but that's where we're moving because of the cost of living. I will be able to save money living there. My brother has a house on fountain and I walked around that very ugly looking neighborhood at night to check it out and I didn't even see anybody outside, it seemed 100% safe, though it was terribly ugly. When I first drove in and saw it I had that sketchy feeling definitely, but once I had stayed for just a few minutes I already felt safe. Well clearly, being there for a day and living there are totally different, so I would really like any insight on the area. I've hinted at wanting insight on other threads but haven't gotten anything out of you guys yet .

My father lived there for a long time and he won't tell me anything either, he comes from the southside of Chicago if that matters. All I really want to do is work and meet some new friends there, I'm very sociable, so please, please, tell me anything you know. Whatever minute details you may have come across in your lifetime are meaningful to me. Nobody I talk to will tell me anything about it for some reason!

That's basically what we tell people, that the area you mention is a bit sketchy and there are frequent police reports from around S. Murray and S. Chelton, etc, but even with that COLO SPGS is safe and NOTHING like East St Louis, or the projects in Chicago, etc.

Yeah the Southeast side is definetly the worst side of Colorado Springs. Key there is "Colorado Springs". I don't think you should worry very much. I frequent the Southeast side of C Springs and I live in Briargate and I never have any problems.

I see what you mean, it's the worst part of the best city, now I understand what you guys mean.
