Have you checked the discount deals available at the customer service counters in the Front Range supermarkets? Easier to buy lift tickets there than at the ski slopes and less expensive, too.

Save your money, skiing sucks IMO. I can ski (not very well). Fell out of the ski lift once (that was awesome), skied down the bunny slope on my face once, had to be rescued from a green slope twice, conquered it after that. But where I draw the line is the 4 year olds skiing circles around me on any slope. After all that "fun" I sold my ski gear and now prefer the hot tubs, spas and lounges when we go up to Steamboat. The guys pack their ski gear, us girls pack our swim suits. For beginners, I'd recommend Breckenridge. We always got a good deal from King Soopers, I think they still sell them. It was quick, easy and convenient. Break a leg!

I think Loveland's 3-class pass is the best deal out there. As a beginner, you have to (or should at least!) take lessons anyway, so you take 3 lessons, and then get a full season pass to keep at it.
