Any suggestions on where to stay in Ouray? Nothing to crazy expensive, but would appreciate a hidden gem.
Thank you in advance!

There are a number of OK places in Ouray--check out the Chamber of Commerce for some recommendations. For a truly historic experience, a stay at the restored Beaumont Hotel would be tops in my book, but I know it's pretty pricey.

I stayed at a really COOL hotel there a few years ago, the Western Hotel. It's an authentic 19th century place straight out of the old west. H i s t o r i c W e s t e r n H o t e l O u ra y

The Beaumont hadn't been restored then and was sitting empty but it was a beautiful place too.
Either would be a great choice. And definitely check out the hot springs pools, preferably at night. Ouray is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

Ouray is a charming town, pleasant to walk around. I'm glad I stayed there...once. But if you're looking for "reasonably priced" places to stay, I think you'll be disappointed. Montrose, 26 miles to the north is much more reasonable, as is Durango, 71 miles to the south.

I'd google bed and breakfasts for Ouray. There are several very nice ones that are charming, and not as pricey as the Beaumont or other very nice places.

if you're up for it, drive up to Silverton and stay at the Villa Dallavalle

My favorite place to stay in Ouray is the Weisbaden Hot Springs Lodge, but it is on the pricey side. If you enjoy soaking in the hot mineral water, there is nothing else in Ouray that matches up with the underground Vapor Cave (http://www.wiesbadenhotsprings.com/rooms-pool-spa.html#springs - broken link) experience at Weisbaden. A little bit less pricey with it's own hot spring pool is the Best Western Twin Peaks Lodge. The prices at both places include use of the on ground hot spring facilities. If you stay elsewhere, and plan to visit the hot springs, factor in the cost of using the public pool. The cost of lodging elsewhere AND the cost of the public hot springs may not be much less than the more costly lodging recommended above.

I sure wouldn't want to stay in Silverton (rather, wouldn't want to drive to get there!) anytime near any kinda winter.
