By late October, the higher elevations will likely have snow on the ground. Your best bet for hiking will be along the Front Range, in one of the many Open Space Parks. There are tons of them near Morrison (along Bear Creek Canyon) all the way through to Evergreen. Or try Golden Gate Canyon Park near Golden. I'm sure Boulder has a bunch too, but I don't know of them specifically.

If winter is late in coming and the high country is still free of snow by then (let's hope not!), you could stay in Estes Park and explore Rocky Mountain NP, or stay in Summit County and explore the Gore/Tenmile Ranges.

Fuzz- did you capture the photos in the first page? If so, I hope you are a professional photographer. They are VERY good. If you are not a pro.... you should be.

Thanks. Yes, all the images are mine. And no, I'm not a pro. Photographers are a dime a dozen in Colorado. A stroll through any art fair will reinforce how hard it can be to make it as a pro here.
