Does anyone know where to buy angle iron and tube steel for welding and building items? I need to build a welding table. Speckens and Midwest keep changing there prices. That's a red red flag to me. I don't like doing business with a company that keeps changing prices like the gas companies do. I feel like they are taking advantage of me by uping prices when I want to buy some of their metal. Eight dollars to cut a 2x2x1/8x20' into so I can carry in home in my truck. What's the big picture here. Are they taking advantage of their customers?

I've dealt with Speckens, and I thought they were OK. I think the price changes just have to do with steel being a volatile commodity much like gasoline.
For what its worth, I can't believe how expensive steel (and copper) have
stayed even during this economic crap storm....

If you're buying enough steel to make the trip worthwhile, or are up that way for other business ... try Western Steel in Colorado Springs. At least, give them a call for your requirements and quote.
