I will post that Durango is in one of the most scenic areas of the lower 48 states. Drop dead gorgeous country, but you'll probably want a car.

Are you a Ute? After reading your reply I want to move to Durango and or the surrounding area !! Are you a writer? Just beautiful.....thanks, you made my day. And to the young man from NYC. You will never regret experiencing the Western states..any of them. Colorado is my favorite so far,and have never set foot in it......its just beautiful and cant wait to get there next Saturday...we are almost on our way.

I appreciate the comments on here even though some are old, have helped me a great deal my family and I are really wanting to move to Durango we loved it when we went through there for our honeymoon 16 years ago and have always wanted to call it home, we took the train to silverton what beautiful sites. If anyone could please give us some more in-put that would be great and the job situation and schools we have two middle school age boys. Would love to find jobs and move there at least within the up coming year.
