Isn't this pretty much the same location that's had a couple of earthquake swarms over the last decade?

It actually makes sense, that area is an active rift zone after all and the Sangre De Cristo fault is one of the most active faults in the state.

The one at about 5:30pm Monday hit west of Trinidad. I was on the phone with a friend who lives there and he heard a noise "like a tree falling" and felt something. It is now just after midnight tuesday 8/23 and I was awakened at about 11:50 pm(Monday/22) by rattling sounds in the kitchen. I live 50 miles southeast of Trinidad, and see that the AP has confirmed, via the National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, this third earthquake at 5.5 magnitude 11:46pm 8/22 near the CO/NM border. You heard it here first...

The Associated Press: Magnitude 5.5 earthquake hits southern Colorado

I felt it up here in Colorado Springs. My dorm building was swaying back and forth slightly. Others felt it too.

Tsunamis? Are you kidding? The South Platte will NEVER flood!

(insert absurd Denver-centric retort here)
