Hi. I've made it another step on the way to getting the job I've applied for...the process has taken me just over halfway there in over a month's time! This means moving from CT to the Denver area is more of a possibility for me. I'm still looking in the Arvada/Golden/Lakewood areas due to the shortest commute without living in the mountains per se. Job would be in Blackhawk. I can't seem to get much farther than narrowing it to those areas. Compared to where I live here, those cities are so much larger, and I don't know where to start. I want a nice apartment for myself, a single woman in her early thirties. Somewhere I can enjoy being outside, take in the views, be close to nature...yet also close enough for a ride into Denver becuse I'm interested in everything from museums, theater, sports, etc...and everything else it has to offer that I may not have heard about. A safe place for myself. Maybe the 650-800 range for rents? Any suggestions either in those cities or elsewhere is greatly appreciated. Also any infor on things to do in the area would be great as well.

Thanks so much!

Those would be a good choice. Arvada & Lakewood would have the cheapest rents.

You could get a 2 bed 1 bath condo in Arvada for $90,000-$100,000...It would be an easy ride to Denver or the mountains for play - and Denver is very outdoor friendly - The city of Denver has more parks than any other city.

Welcome to Colorado.

You keep asking the same questions in a number of threads, and I answered on of your threads but you never responded.

This is my response on that thread:

I should mention I would be starting fresh from Connecticut travelling on my own.

I appreciate any an all suggestions...

Thanks!
I have read your other post:

I am responding to this post because the other post has a longer threads with a title that would not attract enough attention and you have been overlooked for information. I think it is a good choice as it close enough to Black Hawk and still within easy reach of Denver and Boulder.

I assume that you are working in the Gaming Industry?? Are you looking to live near a bus, that your company will pay the fare to get to Blackhawk??
Do you know the bus company your employer has contracted for its' employees?? Most establishments have provisions for their employees.

All those areas have multiple buses to blackhawk and living near the pickup site could be ideal.

Are you going to drive??? That I would not advise on a daily basis because of the variable weather conditions, dangerous roads, and many drunks on the road to Black Hawk.

There are many apartments in safe areas that would meet your criteria.
They all have great open space parks and are the older suburbs that are home to most long term residents of Colorado.

Thank you very much, and yes, I work in the gaming industry. I was hoping to try most of the year with the exception of the winter months. I'm not sure if the company provides benefits to employees who take the bus into work. Since I'll be speaking with them later today, I'll make it a point to find out. That would be the best bet since it would be safer, as well as put less wear and tear on my vehicle. I appreciate that you took the time to respond once again.

Thanks!

Nederland. It's about 30 miles from Golden to Blackhawk, and only about 20 miles from Nederland to Blackhawk. Nederland's a fine mountain town that's been able to maintain most of it's character even as it has grown and become a bit more gentrified. And you certainly would be "outside, take in the views, be close to nature" there. Try a google for rental properties in that area (includes Nederland, Rollinsville, Ward, and Eldora, Colorado -- all towns with character and spectacular views up the wazoo!). If you're going to work in the mountains, why not live there too? Ask the company you're going to work for if there's public transporation between Nederland and Blackhawk.
