Hello,
I have to begin commuting tomorrow morning from Longmont to Greeley.
Any opinions/thoughts as to whether I-25 or HWY 85 from 66 would be best, or what the traffic expectations may be from either route?
Thanks for the tips!

What part of Greeley are you working in? If it is on the eastern end of Greeley they highway 85 is the better route, if western end then I-25 is usually better.

85 has less traffic then I-25 but it has lights and lots of trucks which can slow you down.
I have done the drive from Longmont over to 66 and 85 you have to go quite a bit East on 66 to even get to 85 then go North another 15-20 mins.

But like jwiley said if you are going to be on the East side 85 gets you to that side without having to go along Highway 34 which also has lights and a speed limit of 45-55.

I drive on 85 daily and am not a fan of it but I do not sit in traffic very often, that is usually due to an accident or road work.
I would try both ways at the same time of day and pay attention to mileage and drive times.
