Looking at homes on 20-50 acres in Sedalia - all zoned A1 (agriculture) in unincorporated Douglas County.

What are the laws with shooting on your own land (shotgun for clays for example)? Are there any laws with regards to water for horses? It would all be well water.

Thanks!

Also, welcome to Douglas! Check out the 105 corridor. Who knows, we could be neighbors!

I think I'm going to be a little bit north in Sedalia. Do you know any places that are like 200+ acres to ride horses?

I am sure there are a lot of places to ride near there. Chatfield Reservoir comes to mind as they are very horse friendly, and their trails connect to a number of other trails.
Trails at Chatfield | Colorado Parks and Wildlife

There are also trails out of Mt Herman (near Monument). Here is a link with some of the trails in the Colorado Springs area:

Greenland ranch has a lot of trails, and it connects to Spruce Mountain trail which looks like it would be fun on horseback.
Horseback Riding | Trails | DC Outdoors | Douglas County, Colorado (we hike there a lot, often we see horses).

I am sure there are others. I will post if I think of any.

North of Sedalia has a lot of riding. In fact an easier question would be where can't you ride north of Sedalia.

First place I would go for advice on trails is South 85 Feed on 85 just south of Titan Rd. Tell them your skill level and interests.

You may also check at the Jumble Ranch aka the Castle. I know they used to allow riding but I am not sure if they still do.

Back behind Waterton Canyon you can go to Strontia Springs Reservoir.

There is also a DVM near County Line Road, on the west side of 85. Its a big white house. Not sure the name but you can't miss it. They specialize in large animals and they will know clubs and group rides.

Call the Kimble ranch. They used to allow riding but I'm not sure if they still do or what you need.
