Can anyone help me with recent population figures for Evergreen. This site only has figures for 2000 and I'm guessing that there has been some growth since then. Also, what is Evergreen like? Is it just a residential village or does it have some industry.

If anyone has the time an info. I would appreciate your advice.

Regards ... Dave

I don't think anyone truelly knows the population of just Evergreen. Most statistics inlcude surrounding areas like conifer etc.... Everywhere you look you will get a wide range of numbers from 15k to 40k and they don't really specify exactly what area is included.

I would be shocked if there where 40k people in just Evergreen. I really have no idea but I do know that I have been to the DMV 4 times and every time I was the only one in there and didn't have to wait in any lines. Big difference compared to when I lived in Socal :-)

The U.S. Census Bureau lists Evergreen at the year 2000 at 9,216. This is the latest data they have on Evergreen.

I would guess Evergreen is somewhere around 15k.

Evergreen is not actually a city but rather unincorporated Jeffco. Its really hard to get an acurate population up there. Evergreen actually consists of a huge area so what is and isn't considered part of the town is a real grey area. Though I wouldn't be surprised if the area had 40k people. You would be surprised how many houses are up in those hills

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. It seems the jury is out on any kind of accurate figures. I will do a bit more research on the extent of the area in an attempt to get an idea of its "density feel".

If anyone does know, i'm still interested in why there is growth there. Are there any industries to speak of or is it simply a good place to live and perhaps raise kids whilst commuting to work in the City????

There are a few office parks in the area. Mainly banks and investment offices though. Majority commutes to denver though. And newest growth is going to be in the northern part of town near I70

I grew up there and would completely agree with steveco, it's really hard to get an accurate count because there are so many homes that fall under the 80439 zip code even though the homes are in Clear Creek County or closer to Morrison or Conifer.

That being said, Evergreen is pretty big both population and land wise, but it still has the community feeling. Each neighborhood has it's own community thing going on as well.

There are several annual community events such as the Evergreen Rodeo and the Music Festival. There is always something going on at the Lake. It's a really neat place to live and super place to raise kids.

The schools are well funded and there a tons and tons of opportunities for kids as far as sports, the arts, music and the theatre.

While Evergreen is still largely a commuter town there are also plenty of people who work and live in Evergreen. I wouldn't say industry necessarily but there are a bunch of doctors, lawyers, small engineering firms, banks and the like that work in Evergreen.

It has changed so much since I lived there but it still but the longtime residents have done a great job with keeping the community strong as well as extending welcome arms to her new residents.

I loved growing up there.

Basically the latter, I think. You can get to offices in the Golden area in 30 min or less. The closest hospital is Lutheran, which probably takes about the same amount of time, if you are looking for work as a nurse, for example.
