My husband has a job interview in Pueblo next week -- we have 1 night and 1 day/night to explore. What neighborhoods for basic middle class (safe) areas to live should we check out? We are empty nesters. What are a couple of good restaurants for lunch and dinner that locals love? Thanks!

Pueblo has a lot of diverse neighborhoods so its hard to pick one or two. My advise is to drive around and see what area fits you best. Look in the city proper and suburbs. Two areas to avoid are: Bessemer and the lower east side.

I like Mr Tandooris on Victoria and near B street for lunch or dinner, the Pantry, the Hangar, Joe Tomatoes etc for lunch. Park East ain't bad for dinner either.

What is the area that is around the intersection of Fortino and Outlook? Looks nice, is it?
Is "Historic South Pueblo" a safe area?
Ventured into Pueblo West, but it was getting dark - is there more to it than what is at the intersection where the Walgreens and Safeway are, or is that about it?
Hubby has interviews all day tomorrow so I'm going to roam around and look some more. Suggestions welcome.

Your first question. That is the area known as Eagle Ridge and is nice.
Your second question. The historic south area is nice. I live just a little bit west of there by the golf course.
Pueblo West. That is about it lol
Look on the south west side of town. Take northern west past Pueblo Blvd.
Look north of downtown by Mineral Palace Park and the hospital and by CSU P.

Thanks for the tips - area around Parkview is beautiful - reminds me of Saint Paul, MN where we lived for 11 years. Just swore I'd never live in a "vintage" home again - too many problems... but I sure liked that area. Ventured west on Northern past Pueblo - looks like 1980s (I'm guessing) split levels - nice looking neighborhoods.
Loved the antique stores on Union
I like this town. I like it a lot!
