I just finished my 2nd yr in college and want to take a year and live in Frisco. I know cost of living will be high, but I can't hardly find any apartments that have websites. Can anyone refer me to a "cheaper" apartment area?

Ummmm... I guess you could slum it in Leadville or Fairplay if you don't mind a bunch of winter driving to commute into Frisco. Or you could find 2 or 3 like-minded friends and split the cost of renting an apartment. Craigslist High Rockies has some listings for Frisco rentals, but none are exactly what I would consider cheap. Just glancing through, $1500/month was the cheapest rent I noticed.

Does it have to be Frisco? There are other ski towns that have more affordable housing in near-by areas than what you'll find there. How about Breckenridge, for example?

Perhaps you don't know as much about the high cost of living in Frisco as you claim if you are looking for a "cheaper" apartment area.

OP, this is a bad time of year to be looking at anything in Frisco or anything close to any ski area, much less something "cheaper". Winter is high season, plus all of the seasonal employees have already moved there and taken whatever they can find.

I suggest that you wait for the shoulder season, which is after the lifts close and before summer starts. The seasonal employees will be leaving within several weeks of the lifts closing, and landlords will be looking for someone to take their place. Summers can be busy in the high country, so you don't want to wait too late to find something.

There have been some discussions about this area already on the forum. I suggest that you search for not only Frisco and Breckenridge but also Dillon, Silverthorne, and Summit County.

This is the wrong time of year. My company is transferring me to Breckenridge.
Thought i was going to be able to leave right after the first. Thats not going to happen.

Nothing available. I just need a studio or 1bd. Talked to a leasing agent, said its best to wait till late FEb. The lastest, i can be there....so that might work. 1200-1500. Not bad considering all utilities and furnished.
