Can anyone give me some info about living in Larkspur, CO? We are looking at the Bear Dance Area. We have a 8year old son who is active in Scouts and loves football. We are looking for a family friendly town.

I see that Larkspur has an Elementary school, but where do those kids go to middle/high school?

Any info/opinion/experience about this area would be helpful. We live in Peyton, CO (El Paso County) now. We need a location between Denver airport area and downtown Springs for work reasons. We have been looking in Castle Rock and Parker but prices are sending us a little further South to Larkspur (plus we've always loved that area).

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for that link! I still would like school info- and any current info (that was 2006 I think).

If you read the thread you will see that the last posts were Nov. 2013. Lots of good information there. Mike will probably tack your thread onto the back of it.

You can also check out the town of Larkspur's web site. I always thought Larkspur was a cool little town, but my info about the area is hopelessly out of date. Have you considered checking out Palmer Lake? The high school there would be Air Academy (not the REAL Air Academy) which has a pretty good rep.

Thanks- we need to be further north than Palmer lake- north Larkspur is kind of a compromise already.

Correction - Palmer Lake is part of District 38, not District 20 so the high school would be either Lewis Palmer or Palmer Ridge.

If you are planning a commute to near DIA, living near Highway 83 and commuting north on it up to C470 may be easier than taking the interstate from Larkspur. There are some nice homes on the north end of El Paso County.

Sorry, I was thinking of Palmer Lake's next door neighbor, Black Forest.
