Hello, I was wondering if someone could explain the difference between buddy tickets and ski-with-a-friend tickets for season pass holders at Vail resorts? I was looking into getting the Epic Local pass and was wondering what these two types of additional tickets were.

Ski-with-a-friend seems self-explanatory but I don't know what the buddy tickets are for. Thanks!

Aren't they the same thing- where you get discounted rates for a friend with your pass? That's how it works with my Loveland pass.

Yes, they are the same thing. Your friend saves $10 on a $130 ticket. Woot!

I guess they may basically be the same. The season passes have the two kinds of tickets listed as part of the package so I wasn't sure what the difference was.

The main difference is in the prices. "Buddy" tickets on the Epic, Epic Local, Summit Value, & Keystone A-Basin passes are going to be a flat $89 for next season at all Vail Resorts' Colorado resorts (Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone). The "Ski with a friend" ticket is a randomly discounted lift ticket price that changes throughout the season. The Ski With a Friend ticket price for Vail right now is $111. The Buddy tickets stay the same flat rate for the entire season as where the Ski With A Friend ticket price changes over the course of the season, being more expensive during the peak times (Christmas Break, MLK Weekend, President's Day Weekend, Spring Break) than during the non-peak times.

Hope that helps explain it.
