I've been thinking about visiting a wolf rescue. I've always been fascinated by wolves and I've wanted to learn more than just what a book will teach you. I know there are a few here in Colorado. Besides the obvious google search and yelp reviews, what are peoples thoughts? Are any of them better than the others? I am in Castle Rock, but the drive isn't much of a concern.

The wolf rescue ranch outside of Florissant, near Colorado Springs, is phenomenal. I used to live near it and loved hearing them howl at night. Great place to visit.

Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center

One of my co-workers just went there last week and can't stop talking about it, they had a great time.

It's a beautiful and humane place for wolf rescue. Not to mention the amount of information they have on the dogs. The first time I visited I was so thoroughly impressed I started donating money to their cause.

I was involved with bringing Mission:Wolf to a museum here in Oregon. They are an excellent organization, do a ton to educate the public, and really care for the animals. I first saw their program as a student at Colorado State University about 18 years ago. I was fascinated. When I was given the opportunity to bring their education program to our museum here (I worked at it), I was very excited. I got to meet the wolves one on one in their "wolf bus." It was truly an amazing experience! I still want to check out their refuge southwest Colorado one day! Mission: Wolf -- Education vs Extinction

I have visited Mission Wolf which is close to Westcliff, but really out in the middle of no where. Very cool place. We were lucky that day -- all the wolves broke out in a howl. They are beautiful animals.
