Vail, in good weather and traffic, is at the 2 hour distance from Denver. It probably has the largest diversity of terrain and size of the total skiable terrain than any other resort in the USA.

My two favorites have always been Breckenridge and A-Basin. I like Copper too since it's smaller than Breck but I love Breck because of the varied terrain, the bowls and close into town. A-Basin though, most likely to have slopes worth the $ in November because of the altitude. But you never know.
