Hello,

I have two questions. What's the best ski resort in your opinion (best ski slopes, best facilities) in a distance of max. 2 hours from Denver? What do you think is the best value ski resort (good price for decent facilities and slopes)?

I'm an intermediate skier. I'm also wondering how likely it is that there'll be snow in November in the ski resorts?

Thanks

Arapahoe Basin or Ski Loveland, both get my vote...........Screw the mega resorts, these two are some of the best!!!

Vail, in good weather and traffic, is at the 2 hour distance from Denver. It probably has the largest diversity of terrain and size of the total skiable terrain than any other resort in the USA.

They start making snow in November and hopefully there are early snow falls. Most places try to open around Veterans Day but the resorts may not have everything completely open until December.

My two favorites have always been Breckenridge and A-Basin. I like Copper too since it's smaller than Breck but I love Breck because of the varied terrain, the bowls and close into town. A-Basin though, most likely to have slopes worth the $ in November because of the altitude. But you never know.

They started up their snow making equipment on 09/23

Also from their site:

Vertical rise: 2,270 feet
Base elevation: 10,780 feet
Summit elevation: 13,050 feet
Average annual snowfall: 350 inches
Number of trails: 105
Longest run: 1.5 miles
Skiable acres: 900
Snowmaking acres: 125
