Is there a reasonable price to lease a private Elk hunting in CO for a week?

Define reasonable. You could easily spend $5000 for a guided hunt.

Isn't it too late for OP to get an elk license for this year, anyhow? I seem to remember that you can put in your application for a hunting license in April and then you can apply for a drawing to get any left over licences in August?

How about killing some deer instead, they have a death wish. They keep jumping in front of my vehicle trying to commit suicide.

LOL! The deer out here have the same death wish. Over the years I've hit 3 of them and one of those encounters practically killed ME while the deer bounded off unharmed.

Such things happen all the time here in Colorado....it's one of those dirty little secrets the Chamber of Commerce quashes so we don't scare off the tourist$ and out of state hunter$. If only Alferd Packer had a Subaru instead of that damned covered wagon thing that were all the fad.... I'm not sure, but that just might be Jazzlover on the roof, some interlopers drinking his beer....oh the horror...

No, you can get an over the counter (Bull) tag any time before the last full season ends, provided you're going to an area that allows it. Many do but not all. You have to check the big game guide from CDW. 3rd season is now (11/4/14), 4th season is later in November.

Thanks for the update. It's been a while since I've had anything much to do with hunting other than gratefully accepting a couple of elk steaks from my elk hunting neighbors. Yum! As good or even better than beef and far superior to venison.

Pine cone fed or corn-fed venison? Same name.. completely different meat.
