How sad is it when E-470 suddenly seems like a bargain?

Drivers from Interlocken to Denver will be charged $7.75 with an Express Toll pass, but $13.83 without one, each direction. This must be the most expensive toll road in the country!

Didn't we pay for a train/light rail already that we're not getting?

And since they're not adding any more general purpose (free) lanes, the traffic problem won't be solved because how many people could afford that toll daily? Ridiculous! But that's what Colorado taxpayers apparently wanted. No more money to improve our roads, so we get Lexus Lanes

And I believe carpools are free, but you have to have 3 people to be considered a carpool.

Why is it that on I-70 in Kansas, there is a portion from Topeka to KC that is tolled and if you go the entire length (probably over 40 miles), it's about a buck. But here, they think $13 is reasonable?

Dontcha know, must be that everyone who lives and/or works in Metro Boulder is so rich that we'll be happy to pay.

Now I don't have to say it. Nothing is for free, even though the rigid anti-tax folks like to think it is.

If infrastructure is a good investment for a Sovereign Wealth Fund,
then it should also be a good investment for the state of Colorado.

Ask the folks in Chicago how they like city parking since an SWF took over management.

Depressing read. So is this what's happening in Denver? Rather than tolls going to pay for the actual roads we drive on, we're just sending our money to the Middle East?

Or to Portugal in the case of Broomfield's Northwest Parkway

I travel to New York (Long Island) every month for a week on business. If I want to go up to the Bronx, the toll each way is $7.50. Starting March 22, it goes up to $8.00 = $16.00 round trip. It takes about 5 minutes to cross the bridge.

When I first started driving in 1975, it was .50 cents to cross the bridge.
