Thank you for such a positive and level-headed post. Much appreciated and spot on!

Great advice and we aren't going anywhere - at least not for a while. To be fair, there have been some positives like my husband found a job that he absolutely loves. For the type of work he does we never dreamed he would find something here so perfect for him. We assumed he'd have to go to the Springs, telecommute or travel (as he's done before).

Our house is really shaping up nicely, it's nice to not have to spend 40 minutes just to get to a grocery store (like we did when living in the outskirts of phoenix), most of the people we have met have been pretty nice and we've made a couple really good friends.

My husband doesn't dislike it here as much as I and I'm old enough to understand that nothing and nowhere is perfect. He and I are happy together and that's what matters most.

thanks for your input!

My questions are:
1. What is the air quality in Pueblo? Does it still smell like steel mills (whatever that smells like?), or has that dissipated?
2. How likely is it that those two rivers will overflow into the area at some point?
3. Has anyone heard the symphony there?

OP, I'm glad you shared your experience.

My experience with Pueblo is mostly via short trips there, but I would say that the people in general aren't as friendly as the average place.

Regarding the racism thing, I would be a textbook example of what someone from Pueblo would look like, so I'm curious as to how I would be received there (lol). Racism has its roots in ignorance, so......

1. No.
2. Almost
3. Yes. I know Dexter aka Avalon, the drummer, and John, a sax player, both of which whom play in the jazz band, Pueblo Municipal Band, Pueblo West Band, the orchestra, etc.

Thanks. No it hasn't dissipated or no, you no longer smell it?

Almost? Not sure how that relates to #2?

Most orchestral works don't include either saxophones or drummers. I was asking specifically about classical venues.

No to the smell, it almost flooded, that's the instruments they play in the venues I've seen them in.

I haven't seen them in the symphony yet but they claim they will get my family and I tickets I believe.
