You can go east on I 80 or I 70. The drive through Wyoming on I 80 gets really boring after awhile, so we choose to go the 70 route. Colorado is worth the extra hour or so travel time, especially if Glenwood Springs is one of your stops.

Good point. Glenwood is definitely worth an extra few hours of driving.

Hope the OP's already come through. Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect at 5pm today for the I-70 corridor west of Denver all the way up to the tunnel. 3-9" of snow through tomorrow afternoon.

well, hopefully, the OP has either already made the run, or has checked the weather this week. The mountains are expecting more snow for the next couple of days, and we could see a bit ourselves. Hope he/she got ahead of this system.

Maybe they can stop in Glenwood and wait it out.

I would if I were them. This morning Grand Junction was on accident alert for the first time in a long time. We don't get a lot snow, this year being an exception. 5 inches in GJ as of this morning, still spitting a flurry or two right now. And I-70 finally re-opened after a semi trailer laid over on its side in DeBeque Canyon, shutting things down this morning.

Yet another guy who didn't read the "SLOW DOWN!!!" signs coming into the canyon, no doubt.
