So due to a layoff I applied for Obamacare insurance through Connect for Health Colorado's website (allowed outside enrollment period for this special circumstance). This was over a month ago. I signed up for a Cigna bronze plan ($860 a month for terrible coverage but I digress) and my enrollment still shows only as "submitted" on Connect's website. Cigna has no record of my enrollment. Connect tells me I do have coverage as of 9/1 and it just takes time for Cigna to get the information. However, Cigna said that it never takes that long and I should have it resubmitted, but Connect won't do that until 30 business days have passed (I applied 8/22 so that is soon). I am so frustrated as I have no proof of coverage (no cards, no online proof, nothing) yet soon I will owe 2 months of premiums if I even get the information from Cigna. I am in limbo as Cigna won't help nor will Connect, and I am afraid if they do resubmit it will be another month of nothing. What should I do?

Contact the Colorado State Division of Insurance using one of the methods given at this State webpage, and ask for their help in resolving the problem:

File a complaint with DORA like above. After almost a year of back and forth with CFH and their unresolved website issues, they fixed the problem within a month of my complaint.

(However, now a new website issue has appeared, and we are completely unable to logon and they said they'll create a ticket....)

And we were being billed for Kaiser & CFH didn't update or something, so they sent our premiums back, but we're uninsured.

It's such a mess. Just file with DORA & call and ask questions regularly.

I am so glad I found the DORA site. I filed a complaint and we'll see what happens.

I have called CFH multiple times and the customer service people just said the same thing over and over, that I have to wait a certain number of business days, that it just takes time, etc. First they said 21 business days then 25, then 30. But I knew that wasn't right as Cigna said it never takes that long. Now they finally today admitted that they will resubmit my information but who knows it that will fix the problem? It is so frustrating to pay $860 a month for horrid catastrophic-only coverage only to not even be officially enrolled.

Good luck! From what I gathered, the people in the call centers are pretty helpless to do anything. Hopefully they'll work out out now! And yes, almost all the options are not very attractive.

The people from DORA contacted CFH and I received an email from someone in their "complaints resolution" department. It seems their website has a lot of issues and I wish I would have used an insurance broker instead of applying online as that might have made a difference with my information actually going through.

Ugh, so now my case was transferred to a "problem resolution specialist" at CFH. DORA can't do anything more for me. The "specialist" emailed me back that Cigna has no record of my enrollment. Really? This is what I have been calling about for over a month!! The incompetence is astounding. And today my daughter really needs to go to the doctor (or perhaps even hospital) yet I have no official coverage. It's horrible that I have to pay $860 a month for catastrophic care and I am am stuck in limbo because of their system problems. In this internet/computer age how hard is it to enroll somebody? I don't know what to do, every phone call I make I am just re-routed to the call center people who don't know anything and can't help me.

That's too bad. I'd file another complaint.

Walgreen's Walk In clinic is $75 and most of their other services are listed price wise online. I've been going there for colds/asthma and paying that way for a couple years now. The one in Littleton is awesome and does a great job.

I did go to Urgent Care for an asthma attack and the entire visit was less than $400 with 3 prescriptions and a nebulizer treatment. I think base price starts at $150 and goes up from there at many. That might be an option?

There's some other clinics for self pay customers too. Doctors Care in Englewood? Littleton.... probably a few Level 1 in Denver.

Good luck...we can't even logon to CFH to view anything, and it's not going anywhere. I've tried creating multiple accounts but they frown on that.

Maybe contact a broker?

Thanks for the suggestions! I called the "resolutions specialist" and of course could only leave a message. I reiterated the urgency of my situation and that I needed proof of official coverage. I checked online and for the first time my enrollment changed from "submitted" to "pending confirmation" so hopefully there will be some change. Fortunately my daughter started feeling better but I will take her to a Walgreen's clinic (or one similar at King Soopers) if we need to. It's sad that you can pay an outrageous amount for coverage and still have to pay out of pocket at a clinic.
