Here's a few pix of my own to add to Skydog's lovely shots!

Circ just east of Ophir Pass

Animas River as it flows thru old gold mining country near Highway 550 between Ouray and Durango.

Jogger just outside the "town" of Ophir

Ophir Pass, el. 11,789 ft.

I can't edit my post anymore, but the picture of the stream is the Animas River as it flows thru old gold mining country near Highway 550 between Ouray and Durango. The others are pictures taken from the 4wd drive road over Ophir Pass near Telluride.

I added the caption for you.

Send me captions, in order, for each pic and I'll add them to your post.

That 3rd pic makes me wanna start singing "Rocky Top" by the Osborne Bros.

Thanks!

Hah! That road only gets more rugged and the stretch across an entire landslide of scree with a rusted jeep at the bottom made me feel more like this:

Beautiful! Please post more pics! Thank you all for the info. Keep it coming.

Actually Colorado reminds me a lot more of Southern Chile which is one the beautiful places I've ever been.

My Mesa Verde pics are not digitized & I'm not sure if we can post pics not our own here, so here's a link to the Cliff Palace
from Wiki & more of a close up from AARP.
