We got down here from Alaska this week and closed on our home on Thursday. We love it here so far! People have been very friendly. One cashier even hugged us to welcome us to the Valley. It is so beautiful here. I thought I was going to miss my views of the Kenai Mountains and Kachemak Bay but the view from my house is equally beautiful, though very different.

We are adjusting to being hotter as it never really gets above 70 in Homer and being much higher (8000 ft vs sea level) but it isn't nearly as hot as some of the temps we traveled through. 100 degrees is insane. I thought we were going to melt. Low to mid 80's isn't nearly as bad when I put it into perspective. Plus, I love the cool down at night.

Thanks to everyone who answered my questions about the SLV and routes to take. We are so happy to be here!

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the SLV?

Glad you're happy though :-)

San Luis Valley, so we use the acronym of SLV as short hand. The threads are set up so one may search on the term SLV and get a lot of info in quick fashion. Searching on 'valley' will get someone a ton of misc threads, so the term to search on is SLV.
