Oh yea, we've have definitely put some money into our boat, but most of the repairs were due to only being in saltwater. It was originally bought in the state of Washington and was used there, brought and sold to us here. Don't think this boat has ever seen freshwater and the engine and outdrive looked that way before replacing part of each.
Another thing, it's a whole lot easier navigating on lakes in Colorado than on the waters here.

But, sure do enjoy the boat and, if it's still operating decently, plan on having it shipped to Loveland or wherever we end up moving to. But, it darn sure won't see any more saltwater or brackish water!

Having had boats and cars and trucks from salt and non salt regions, I have a very simple rule (cuz I do all my own maint).

If a mechanical machine has EVER lived in a salt region... it STAYS in the salt region.

Saves me lots of grief and expense. And is MUCH Easier to resell. / explain to new owner.

For cars and trucks, I will sometimes keep the engine and tranny and shred the salted frame and body. But... even engine and tranny components are a PITA and can break bolts / and round off hex nuts. Best for me to leave behind. I would Love to have my set of non-rusty machine tools I had while living in Colorado. But they came to a humid climate, oxidized, and would be impossible to sell again in Colorado.

I prefer no rust / no corrosion Colorado and WY boats.

Of course. We each should do what is best for each of our situations.

When it’s time to sell our boat, we won’t have a problem selling it in Colorado. Have every single receipt of all repairs going all the way back to when we bought the boat here in 2009.
