SATURDAY EVENING FOR COLORADO FIRE WEATHER ZONES 207, 290, 292
AND 295 FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS...

.Critical fire weather conditions are expected this afternoon and
evening and again on Saturday, with Red Flag Warnings in effect
for portions of west-central and southwest Colorado. Winds will
continue to be elevated out of the southwest ahead of a storm
system sitting to the west over Nevada and Utah, with dry
conditions present. The combination of gusty winds, low relative
humidity and dry fuels will result in critical fire weather
conditions both today and again on Saturday.

FWIW, there is a historical patten of above avg monsoon activity after a strong la nina.. and the CPC outlook issued yesterday shows bullseye for the 4 corners area during the early part of this time. Hope it happens!

Things are real concerning on the western slope, real concerning. The Colorado River runoff is going on right now, just come over the bridge a bit ago after being out of town for a couple days. The Yampa River's runoff is all but done, was through that area a couple days ago. Unless a deluge rolls through here, Governor Hickenlooper should establish a campfire ban over the entire western slope, it's the right thing to do.
