On a positive note, I had no election-related junk in my mailbox today.

Jared Polis is the clear favorite to win the Colorado governor’s race.

Two new polls show the Democrat holding a solid lead against Republican Walker Stapleton a week before Election Day, confirming five prior general election polls showing the same result.

The latest surveys of likely voters released Thursday — one from a Democratic pollster and one from a Republican pollster — give the five-term Boulder congressman huge advantages with unaffiliated voters and women, two key demographics for victory in Colorado.

“In 23 years of polling in Colorado, a statewide candidate with this type of consistent 7- to 8-point lead in the polls has never lost the election,” said Chris Keating, one of the state’s top Democratic pollsters. “Our statistical model gives Jared Polis a 98 percent chance of winning.”

I’ll tell you from a conservative’s point of view. I’m tired of the bought and paid for politicians.
In Broomfield, our quality of life is awesome. Great schools, little to no crime, perfect suburbia. Except, oil and gas and fracking. We are about to become the first residential area with 6 pads and 100+ wells drilling under our homes. Polis only disagrees with 112 on one issue. Private property mineral rights. When 112 passes, he will not try to overturn it. He’s publicly said that.
So what I’m saying is that most people’s issues here is exactly that. And bought politicians want to frack in our neighborhoods and people are sick of an industry that isn’t capable of balancing energy production and the health and safety of people. They could care less. So Polis has mine and almost every conservative I knows vote. He will clean up the COGCC and get rid of Hickenloopers people hopefully.

Good job Colorado! We are already just a hair behind the entire 2014 vote total as of 10:30 am this morning. Hopefully we'll smash that number with a great turnout today. Don't forget that you can register and vote today at your local polling location.

Aside from the actual results tonight, I hope this election points out to all the people in my lifetime I've heard say "my vote doesn't count" see that yes, your vote does indeed matters and failure to exercise that right means you give control of your life to those willing to direct that voting power.

The sentiment about votes not counting comes from the presidential elections, where arguably your vote does mean very little (especially if you're voting for the minority party that state represents), except in a handful of swing states due to the electoral college system.

The electoral college a form of built-in voter suppression. A Democratic presidential vote in Oklahoma is essentially disregarded.
