Another item of 'due diligence' people need to do for relo to rural areas. There ARE pitfalls in some low-tax libertarian paradises like parts of Colorado.

Valid points are made here and there. Along with a lot of misinformation. Lloyds of London provided insurance to Forbes Park. Insurance was more difficult due to the clear fire hazard. Fire departments usually save rural foundations by the way, I used to be a volunteer fireman. That is what the paid Chief said.
If people were worried about fire, and they should have been, they would have cleared 50' around their house. I know people who did that and saved their Forbes Park homes. Not all however. Many areas do not allow clearing around the home. Such as Paradise, California - which burned to the ground.
My Forbes Park lot burned last year. The value dropped commensurately. My realtor advised me to hold unto it until it greens back up.

The political temperament of the proles matters not. The state and county governments are not libertarian in the slightest. One might find a measurable sample in Wyoming, Montana, or Idaho.

What about people living / staying there from abroad ? I'm not even into politics in my own country or where I live and definitely would avoid politics in the states - would people dislike that ?

There are almost always a few exceptions. They do not break the rule.

Avoiding politics is always a safe approach. Unfortunately our lives are often controlled by those who do not avoid politics.
I'm not aware of any general animosity towards the British. Though I would avoid being seen as well to do. Hating the rich is more popular than it used to be. A socialist mindset has grown strong roots in the more liberal mindset. Thought and speech control is also what
2 million Washington bureaucrats are all about. That shouldn't be a problem for you as the situation is even more dire in modern England.
