When we were in Grand Junction we had to make a special stop at Enstrom's Toffee and stock up. We treated ourselves to caramel apples for breakfast!
Enstrom’s is our “treat” spot in town. Great toffee and ice cream. If you stop in during business hours you can watch production through a glass window in the tasting room. Psst, and they give free samples.

The Grand Valley is loaded with Native American artifacts and archaeological sites. This petroglyph happens to be right on the edge of a neighborhood in the Redlands.

View of the back 9 at Redlands Mesa golf course. Consistently one of the most highly rated public courses in Colorado and voted top 50 most beautiful courses in the world. The Colorado National Monument is in the background. Having a house along the course - mostly on the front 9 - is the most desirable neighborhood in Grand Junction.

Just south of Grand Junction is a wilderness area called Dominguez- Escalante named after two explorers who passed nearby a few hundred years ago. It’s huge and filled with lots of Native American artifacts. Popular as a day hiking area or for extended backpacking. The Gunnison River cuts through the middle of it.

There are a several natural lakes near Ripple Creek Pass (first photo). Trappers (photo #2) which had a huge fire back around 2002, Mirror Lake (photo #3) and several others. It’s a hikers paradise.

We did a 12 mile hike in the Colorado National Monument today. Mid 40’s and sunny.

Grand Junction was once home to the crookedest road in the world - so they say.
