Dumb. I drove my ford focus with all seasons for 7 years and never had a problem. I carried chains, only needed them once. It doesn't matter how equipped a vehicle is for winter driving if the person behind the wheel doesn't have a clue how to drive in the snow. If they want laws, then make winter driving classes a requirement to drive the mountain corridors. If they want to ban cars, ban people they don't know how to drive in the snow.

If we are stopped, are they actually going to measure our tread depth, to make sure it is the required 3/16"?

Will the officer use a (Lincoln) penny?

I was just thinking that we might need to be more aware of tire wear.
