Helping a friend find one here in Colorado. He lives in Leadville . I have searched google but find only meet up groups and classes. I also read cheap land in CO is hard to find so that may be the reason I'm not finding any online?

The closest you'll find to what you're looking for will likely be in the San Luis Valley. I would suggest reading up on the Moffat, Crestone, and Blanca areas. Lots of homesteading going on out here. Land is certainly cheap, but actually living out here is quite often not, however. The price tag for the land is not the whole story, and some parcels change hands almost yearly as a result.

There are various threads about the SLV on here and check back if you have questions that haven't been answered elsewhere.

Your friend is not far from Crestone. He should go drive around there. Interesting place.

Search IC.org

~40 choices in Colorado. (not usually 'cheap', but they have a head start at actually becoming viable.

These are but a few of those that are 'registered' / open.

Dig around, you will find plenty more. +/-
