Pine Gulch Fire near Grand Junction 83,000 acres 811 personnel 7% contained several area rods closed and evacuations.

Grizzly Creek Fire near Glenwood Springs 26,000 acres 625 personnel 0% contained I70 closed area evacuations.

Williams Fork Fire Arapaho National Forest 6,345 acres 89 personnel 0% contained area roads closed and evacuations.

Cameron Peak fire near Redfeather Lakes 12,124 acres 298 personnel 0% contained

Smaller wildfires also reported near Rifle and Silt.

Pine Gulch Fire near Grand Junction 88,000 acres now 3rd largest wildfire in Colorado history 900 personnel 7% contained, evacuation order in place road closures in place.

Grizzly Creek Fire near Glenwood Springs 29,000 acres 900 personnel 4% contained area evacuations and road closures including I-70 closed.

Mill Creek Fire near Gunnison The Mill Creek Fire was discovered August 17 at 4:30 p.m. It is burning in the Gunnison National Forest, West Elk Wilderness, 12 miles northwest of Gunnison, west of Cunningham Reservoir and National Forest Service Road (NFSR)727

Goose Creek Fire near South Fork 171 acres 85% contained

Williams Fork Fire near Fraser 7,000 acres 226 peronnel 3% contained

The smoke has been bad in Denver lately. Yesterday the sky was a brown haze. My eyes won’t stop itching.

The Grizzly Creek Fire ignited on August 10 along Interstate 70 in lower Glenwood Canyon. The fire is burning in oak scrub, mixed conifer, and aspen. The fire's growth is fueled by fuels, topography, and weather. Drought conditions have created critically dry fuels that are very receptive to fire. Interstate 70 is closed due to firefighting efforts occurring on and along the interstate, as well as rocks and other debris rolling onto the roadway.

The community of No Name, Lookout Mountain and Coulter Creek areas east of Glenwood Springs were evacuated today.

Nearly 5,000 acres 238 personnel 0% contained. I-70 closed near Glenwood Springs.

I came back into Denver from Glenwood on the Amtrak on the 5th & I was horrified by the dead vegetation in the canyon. I literally spent hours thinking that the area was prime for a really bad fire.

I still have a spidey sense from having evacuated during Waldo here in Colorado Springs in 2012. My neighborhood was mislabeled on a FEMA map & didn't get an evacuation order. I was alone with my three youngest kids, one of them disabled when I had to hold wet towels over their heads & run for the car with flaming debris raining on us from above. Had to use the windshield wipers to knock flames off my windshield.

The canyon made me nervous & now sure enough, here we are. I don't think anyone is talking about how fast it could move into the town of Glenwood Springs? It took just one collapsed cumulus cloud during our afternoon thunderstorms to drive Waldo down the side of the mountains and into Colorado Springs city limits. I'm afraid the same thing could happen again.

My son in Fort Collins brought his wife and kids to Colorado Springs on Monday due to the smoke and ash in the air.

My daughter in Boulder has asthma and is struggling with the smoke there too. Ugh!

It’s so bad. We had our windows open last week and I had spent a lot of time outside and I ended up with a sore throat and a headache. I thought I was coming down with something but realized it was the smoke. After staying inside and keeping all of the windows closed I’ve felt so much better. Yesterday the sky had an eerie smoky haze that hung in the air. I can only imagine how bad things are close to the fires. Hoping for the best for the people and animals who are getting hit hard with this and also hoping no new fires spark in this dry heat.
