We sold our car to a husband and wife several months back. My husband let them use our Arizona license plate to drive home. When they got home they mailed it back to us. I end up getting a bill for Toll Charges in CO. I sent in all the information regarding the Sale and they are STILL charging me. Don't they have to prove it was me or my husband driving since I have proof that I sold the car? This whole situation is infuriating. Does anyone have any information that can help?

I don't get it. Why don't you contact the husband and wife and have them pay the charge?

How much is this charge? Is it worth getting infuriated about? Just pay it and be done.

Contact one of the local TV station troubleshooters.

You let them borrow your license plate? They should have applied for an in transit plate.
The problem is between you and the buyer, not the toll authority.

Why? The OP is at fault.

I'd be grateful to have sold the car and would consider the toll charges a cost of doing business, especially since it's probably no more than $15. The OP could write to the buyers and politely ask to be paid for the toll fees but that almost seems nitpicking in the larger scheme of things.

We don't have Toll areas in Arizona so this all new to me.

#1 We were being nice by letting the couple who were visiting in Arizona to use our Plate to get back to Nebraska. I did call them - of course I had to leave a voice mail - and they never returned the call.

#2 The Fees have now added up to $72.55 because they just added a $25.00 "Civil Penalty". That is a lot of extra money for me right now.

I followed the Toll Companies Instructions to deal with the issue and they are continuing to charge me. Is that right?

If you allow some to use your car and they get a Speeding Ticket or Traffic Ticket is your fault? Are you just going to pay the Ticket for them? In those cases the driver is identified. Why shouldn't the Toll Company have to prove it was "you" after you have told them the car sold?

#3 Why am I in the wrong when I expect someone or a company to be fair and honest? Not that I'm naive about that but your comments are pretty harsh saying it's just "the OP fault/problem". Wow - I was hoping for helpful information not just negativity.
